Bug#376652: USB problem on kernel linux-image-2.6.18-4-686

I have the same problem with my Sansa c240 MP3 player.

When I connect to the USB port, my syslog shows:

Feb 21 15:00:09 kernel: usb 5-7: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
Feb 21 15:00:09 kernel: usb 5-7: device descriptor read/64, error -71
Feb 21 15:00:09 kernel: usb 5-7: device descriptor read/64, error -71
Feb 21 15:00:09 kernel: usb 5-7: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
Feb 21 15:00:10 kernel: usb 5-7: device descriptor read/64, error -71
Feb 21 15:00:10 kernel: usb 5-7: device descriptor read/64, error -71

This problem is quite common in Linux > 2.6.10 it seems.

Removing ehci_hdc allows the MP3 player to be detected, but now I don't have high speed use of my
USB bus.

I'll add my kernel log, just in case it helps track down the problem.
