I haven't had a chance to test that yet (I switched to Xubuntu some
months ago, which worked until a very recent update to Edgy, also in
2.6.17), but I have been able to determine that the KVM I was using
(StarTech SV411) is a factor, at least on Xubuntu using kernel
2.6.17-??. Connected the trackball directly to the computer eliminates
the problem.

And that's my crabbing done for the day. Got it out of the way early,
now I have the rest of the afternoon to sniff fragrant tea-roses or
strangle cute bunnies or something. -- Michael Devore
