Bug#408614: modprobe error "Error inserting powernow_k7 [..] No such device" as in bug #378975

i've tried:
linux-image-2.6.20-rc5-k7_2.6.20~rc5-1~experimental.1~snapshot.8193_i386.deb
linux-image-2.6.20-rc6-k7_2.6.20~rc6-1~experimental.1~snapshot.8237_i386.deb
( i didn't find any 2.6.19 available ), but i'm getting the same error.
However, now i suspect this to be a not-working-properly hardware issue, for
quite
some different reasons:
- there's also an ubuntu edgy eft installed on this machine, and the
powernow_k7 module included in that kernel (2.6.17-generic) isn't working
too.
- the output of:
$cat /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/info
processor id: 0
acpi id: 1
bus mastering control: no
power management: no
throttling control: no
limit interface: no
i don't know if this is a consequence of powernow-k7 not working, or rather
this CPU doesn't support frequency scaling anymore (once it did, but i can't
reproduce it now as i've reinstalled debian from scratch).
If all the infos provided by the /proc/acpi/processor interface are
powernow_k7-independant, then this CPU is not working properly anymore,
and this bug has to be closed.

Thanks for helping,
