Bug#407268: kernel-image: (re)configure kernel fails
Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-3-686-smp
Version: 2.6.8-16sarge6
Severity: normal
File: kernel-image
While package setup it fails with diagnostics:
Setting up kernel-image-2.6.8-3-686-smp (2.6.8-16sarge6) ...
/usr/sbin/mkinitrd: line 1: genromfs -d /tmp/mkinitrd.eLHxJZ/initrd -f
/boot/initrd.img-2.6.8-3-686-smp.new: No such file or directory
Failed to create initrd image.
dpkg: error processing kernel-image-2.6.8-3-686-smp (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 9
Running kernel version may be 2.4 (from package) or 2.6 (selfmade),
result is always the same. I can run mkinitrd from commandline - it
works.
