er... no, i'm posting a bug report about a misbehaviour of the kernel.
how am I wrong about how I think things should work?

and if you think I'm doing this just for fun, maybe I should stop doing
this because it's not particularly pleasant, especially right now.

I honestly haven't thought of that, maybe I should head there, if you
think this is not a bug, which I highly doubt.

yes, i understand that. I highly suspect the BIOS/ACPI to be broken with
this regard on this laptop.

I did this some time ago. I found this:

http://website.lineone.net/~bryanrpoole/a30-141.html

and this:

http://web.archive.org/web/20050205233442/tiptsoft.com/laptop/linux.html

The first one doesn't talk about ACPI/suspend/resume at all. The second
one mentions it doesn't work (or that S1 and S2 don't work and that S4
works, which is not the case here).

I've also started documenting the laptop some time ago:

http://wiki.koumbit.net/TheAnarcat/ToshibaSatelliteA30

So I have dug out quite a bit of information out there.

I'll try this out, thanks.
