Error message, Kernel panic at boot. libcrypt.so.1 not found. And
that's not True. I've got that library installed in my system.
I am using Debian GNU/Linux 4.0, I did an apt-get dist-upgrade from
Sarge, I keept my old kernel (2.6.8). After the first login I
installed Linux 2.6.18-3-amd64 I rebooted the machine and then I tried
to boot.
ideas?

yes ask on debian-user mailing list,
also you should provide at least the errors with more details,
when asking them.
try to regenerate your broken initramfs
anyway bug reports are not the proper support place.
