Sorry, but *most* here isn't right word here. Most (!new) user may and
can find many ways to install/upgrade/use new release of the Debian.
If they want to use it further, let them have own built kernel, or one
from non-free. So, i would say, all binary-firmware must be removed,
or 15+ years of Debian are wasted.
Efforts must be concentrated on improving stability of the kernel.
Many devices in modern "Office" computers are very fast and SMP.
So, if new release is to target new hardware, lets work on hardware
problems. Most users, where Debian is on working servers (old, known
hardware), will likely to stay with Sarge.
As i'm a newbie, this is an _opinion only_ message.
