Bug#387668: problems with nice on 2.6.17+ powerpc ?
Hi,
I can confirm this on a vanilla kernel 2.6.17-rc6:
yap@hidalgo:~$ id
uid=1001(yap) gid=1001(yap) groups=1001(yap)
yap@hidalgo:~$ ps
PID TTY TIME CMD
6851 pts/3 00:00:00 su
6852 pts/3 00:00:00 bash
6856 pts/3 00:00:00 ps
yap@hidalgo:~$ renice -5 6852
6852: old priority 0, new priority -5
yap@hidalgo:~$ nice
-5
yap@hidalgo:~$ uname -a
Linux hidalgo 2.6.18-rc6 #2 Thu Sep 7 17:53:04 CEST 2006 ppc GNU/Linux
I've tried on a (now down) pismo box with linux-2.6.17-2-powerpc and
same thing, I could renice a process with a negative priority.
Regards,
