This fix is in Linus' tree now, so I've committed it. It is pending
for 2.6.17-9.

Radek,
  You originally reported this against the sarge 2.6 kernel, so I'm
filing a bug there as a reminder to myself. I plan to start working on
an update to the sarge 2.6 kernel for a future point release, and this
looks like a candidate.

In the future, I'd suggest filing such issues as bugs in the future
instead of just reporting them to the mailing list. Bug reports are
far less likely to get lost.
