Bug#373575: problem work arround



I have found a work around for this issue. I don't think this is a final fix as I think there is still a bug causing this behavior with the default settings. it could point you in the correct direction.

The BIOS setting called onchip sata was set to Auto (the default)
this mapped sata port 0 to IDE pri master and sata port 1 to IDE pri slave

I have changed this to manual
and mapped sata port 0 to sata port 0 and sata port 1 to sata port 1

this has fixed the DVDROM detect in the testing nightly build of the installer
I can mount the ext3 partitions of sda1 from inside the installer
but I cant partition them (they do not show up in the installer) ... something for the installer ppl to look at
