Please file a bugreport (against the source package linux-2.6), instead of addressing the mailinglist directly. Generally, I personally recommend using the commandline tool reportbug to file bugreports, as it automagically includes additional valuable info. That remark does not really apply to official Debian kernel packages, which make sure to generate and use an initrd.
