If you had read the early bug reports, the patch was clearly marked as a quick
reversal of the problematic patch, to get the machine booting on pegasos and
other powerpc machines with ide pci cards using those drivers, while we took
the time to dig at the issue really, and awaited comment from Erik.

I think you even commented on that claim (to dismiss my patch though) earlier.

Notice that on wednesday, this bug will be open since 3 month, if i am not
wrong, and as far as i can see, we are not nearer to getting a fixed yaird
than we where then.
