No, I believe those use cases are equally important.

I believe it is important for yaird to apply same strict logic to all
Linux kernels, official or not.

Imagine the tool "make" failing to compile some software, and you were
told that Debian make was optimized for official Debian sourcecode, so
the "solution" is to only use tarballs distributed through Debian.

Or the mysql daemon crashing if fed specific SQL commands, and Debian
just made sure to not use those commands in official software.

That's what your patch was about, Sven: Relaxing the internal
logic of yaird for powerpc where you knew it would not hurt - if only
the kernels was built by your!
