Re: Debian etch with linux-kernel 2.6.15 does not boot

I solved the problem with kernel 2.6.15.6, downloaded from
www.kernel.org and installed following
this online guide:
http://www.howtoforge.com/howto_linux_kernel_2.6_compile_debian
Now everything works fine, except a little configuration problem with
audio card (Audigy 2 ZS Platinum).
The problem is that I have to run "alsaconf" after every boot to have a
right mixer configuration with "master" volume.
It seems like alsaconf cannot save the configuration permanently.
OK, I know. This is not a kernel problem.
So, everything is ok.

you are still using lvm10, please upgrade to lvm2.
although that warning is harmless.
Now if I try to boot with 2.6.15 udev doesn't give me errors, but the
system still drop to a shell prompt.
This is the message:

maybe if you would post what's happening above that,
