That was good hint, I upgraded the BIOS on my Gigabyte board to the latest
version (the changelog did not say anything about clock problems, though)
and the clock works fine even without the disable_timer_pin_1 kernel option.
And 2.6.15-1-amd64-k8-smp boots with this, not only 2.6.12.
