Subject: linux-image-2.6.12-1-alpha-smp: trying to kill interrupt handler
Package: linux-image-2.6.12-1-alpha-smp
Version: 2.6.12-6
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

*** Please type your report below this line ***

at boot tile, I can see a kernel panic with message:
trying to kill interrupt handler

This message does NOT show up using
    2.4-alpha-generic
nor 2.4-alpha-smp
nor
2.6-alpha-generic

only with 2.6-alpha-smp

This happen on an
AS1200, with dual EV56 processors, 1GB RAM.

aboot line:

6:2/vmlinuz-2.6.12-1-alpha-smp ro initrd=/initrd.img-2.6.12-1-alpha-smp root=/dev/sda3

KP seems to happen way before trying to mount /
but I cant figure whether it is before or after mounting ramdisk ...

2.6.18-2 and newer include a workaround for this problem.

Yes 2.6.18-3-alpha-smp does work as SMP with cards ISP1020 in, up and working.
