Hi,
Page writeback together with swsusp has been broken in 2.6 for some
time. After a suspend/resume the background page writeback is usually
not working. This can be seen by looking at /proc/vmstat: nr_dirty or
/proc/meminfo: Dirty. After a resume, the number of dirty pages are
not decreasing towards 0, but staying quite high. For more info see:
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?t=114813031000002

A patch to correct this problem is included in upstream since
2.6.17-git9.

Please include this patch in 2.6.16 and 2.6.17, as I think it's quite
important due to the risk of data loss if anything bad happens.

The patch can be found at:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/akpm/patches/2.6/2.6.17/2.6.17-mm2/broken-out/pdflush-handle-resume-wakeups.patch
