I just had a look at the 10 RC bugs we have open for linux-2.6, here it is :

  - 4 bugs are for firmware and doc non-freeness or whatever.

  - 392818: ext3 corruption issue in 2.6.18 found by RedHat
    Maks you commented on it last, any information about a fix ?

  - 393451: linux-image-2.6.17-2-xen-k7: Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in
    This seems to be a 2.6.17 xen issue. Well, it is in etch, so should not
    block transition. I pinged the reporter to see if the issue is still
    present in 2.6.18.

  - 394690: Current version causes system freeze on SATA attached cdrom at least
    nobody from the kernel team commented on this, the bug is coming from
    cdparanoia.

  - 395247: [s390] System clock runs wild (in hercules emulator)
    known bug, patch linked to from the BTS.

  - 387498: mips: system() hangs when compiled with -pg (gprof profiling(.
    Seems the bug also affects hppa, and our autobuilders.

  - 395110,396471: Missing Required parameter 'Old' at /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-image-2.6.18-1-k7.postinst
    This was a kernel-package bug, needs only a rebuild.

So, of these, the only open issues are 392818, 394690 and 387498, as far as
making 2.6.18 the etch kernel asap after d-i rc1 is released.
