Bug#395363: linux-image-2.6.18-1-686: hostap_cs generates strange wlan0_ren interface name, doesn't work

hostap_cs driver seems to load correctly for this card (see syslog 
below) however network interface is called wlan0_ren instead of wlan0, 
there is no wifi0, and ifup fails with error:
