Package: linux-image-2.6.17-2-amd64
Version: 2.6.17-9

I occasionally experience a network freeze while transferring a large
amount of data. The console error message is:

NETDEV WATCHDOG	: eth0: transmit timed out
sky2 eth0: tx timeout
sky2 hardware hung? flushing

According to lspci my network device is

05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8053 PCI-E
Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 19)

I can recover from the freeze by unloading and reloading the sky2 module.
