no,
just pass your fancy_fs with rootfstype=fancy_fs bootarg -
documented in man initramfs-tools(8).
this bootarg is supported since 0.76 and official in linux
source Documentation/kernel-parameters.txt.
reassigning to fstype (klibc-utils), which indeed lacks reiser4 support.
