This is indeed a bug. I am scarcely finding time to handle this, so patches
are welcome. The trick is that prep and ppcbug still use ARCH=ppc, so should
behave like pre-2.6.16 kernels. There may be some bugs in there, i think.

Indeed, they show only up if -v is enabled, we need to add explicit check for
each step, and output a verbose message.
