linux-modules-2.6.16-2-xen contains vital modules for booting the system
if you use linux-image-2.6.16-2-xen; after installing the previous two
packets I couldn't boot my system because I used an initrd file from
another kernel (2.6.17), so the folder /lib/modules/2.6.16-2-xen was
missing from the initrd file, and the boot process stopped because there was no available driver for my ide disk; after creating a new initrd file with "update-initramfs -k 2.6.16-2-xen-k7 -c", my system booted without problems into dom0. Maybe if you recompile the kernel, you don't need the drivers in /lib/modules/2.6.16-2-xen folder during the boot process, but if you use the kernel packet you do.
In any case, I think that a linux-modules postinst script creating the proper initrd file would be nice.Of course if that doesn't cause troubles I don't see...
