Bug#382472: confused when initrd file does not exist

Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.73c
Severity: normal

I had forgotten to mount /boot:

during dpkg-reconfigure:
sha1sum: /boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-1-686: No such file or directory
/boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-1-686 has been altered. Cannot update.

Running update-initramfs by hand just didn't do anythig:

mdadm:~# update-initramfs -u -t -k all
mdadm:~# update-initramfs -d -k $(uname -r)
Cannot delete /boot/initrd.img-2.6.17-1-686, doesn't exist.
