Package: console-tools
Version: 1:0.2.3dbs-39
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

When I change to virtual terminal 7, I get a blank screen with a cursor
and no login prompt. Then I can no longer control the machine (unless
it is connected to a network so that I can connect by ssh). Without a
network connection, the only solution seems to switch off the machine.

The virtual terminal shouldn't be changed if one can't do anything from
the new one.

there are now newer reports against console usage in powerpc against
2.6, so assuming that your bug report got fixed inbetween.

you might want to test the latest Debian installer:
-> http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/
daily builds will be soon switched to expected beta3 for etch.

thanks for your feedback.
