Bug#360619: Processed: Re: Bug#360619: Installer numbers SCSI drives diffently than the post install system does on Dell PE1855 (Debian 3.1r1)

reassign 360619 base-installer
stop

base-installer seems writing to fstab, but maybe partman should
handle the uuid stuff..

initramfs-tools supports booting to a root by uuid,
latest unstable version fixed an bug concerning the resume partition.

360619 shows an initrd-tools trouble and i'm sure that can't be cured
for the sarge installer. hope that d-i will soon implement uuid fstab
and boot args implementation as that is the only reliable way to get
your root on multiple scsi/sata/ide installs.

Scott has a nice script that converts the fstab,
that will of course only work with initramfs-tools.
initrd-tools has no uuid nor label support.
