Reassigning to the kernel team as they know more about oopses than us 
simple installer folk.
The installation report contains loads of detailed info.

This may be user error though as I would expect booting from usb stick to 
require a hd-media image (like for i386), though I'm not sure of that.

Toni: You may also want to try with a new daily build of the installer 
which uses a 2.6.16 kernel. Note that the powerpc cd builds have been 
broken for a while, but we expect to get (finally) new ones in tonight's 
run, so check the date before you download.
