Version: 2.6.11-5

On a new P4 640 *) both -smp kernels 2.6.8 (2.6.8-16) and 2.6.11
(2.6.11-5) freeze the console when regular ps-2 keyboard and mouse are
attached. With usb/wireless keyboard/mouse (**) and/or single cpu 
kernels this behaviour does not occur. The box is still reachable over 
the network and a kill and restart of the getty and gdm resolves the 
problem as does the removal of the ps2 and connection of the usb/
wireles keyboard/mouse.

Also attached are dmesg's with ps2 keyboard/mouse (which freezes the
console) and with the usb/wireless keyboard/mouse (which doesn't).

This problem is always reproducable.

Box is available for debugging purposes.

I see that there was no further information provided about this bug since the ping in July 2005. I guess by now it's safe to assume that the bug is no longer relevant, so I'll go ahead and close it. Please feel free to reopen it at any time with additional information, if the problem still persists with any recent kernels currently in Debian.
