I was finally able to upgrade to kernel 2.6.16, and the bug has disappeared for me now. I've been running for several days with no more clock drift or keyboard stutter. Note that I'm not using any special boot parameters such as noapic, acpi=off, clock=pmtmr, or disable_timer_pin_1. Thanks for your help.
