as in subject, i reported the same problem.
i tried the workaround posted by Cristophe Chisogne in date 21/02, but
it did not work for me (i use grub so i skipped the 'lilo part' of the
trick).
i can post further informations if needed, but the output of dmseg, lspci
and lsmod are absolutely the same of those supplied by Cristophe, except for the chipset name (ICH5) and number (82801EB/ER)
i also disabled sata support in my motherboard, and inserted piix module as
first entry in /etc/modules, as stated by some kernel bugs mailing list
messages, but without results

DMA on kernel 2.6.12, that i manteined on my pc, continues to work fine
