Bug#321403: 8139too network driver won't work with my card (it did with 2.6.8)

That won't work, since there is no such setting in my bios.

But then why do older kernel versions (up to 2.6.8) work ok?

I am sad to hear it, but since I don't have enough time to dig into this
right now, I have no other option but to accept this, and keep going on
using the box with ACPI=off.
