Package: debian-installer
Version: testing (sarge) i386 build 1.12.2004

Hi

sarge net-inst daily build from 1.12.2004:

this version (as all versions before) of the new sarge installer
can't be installed on a dell poweredge 2850 with megaraid2 controller.
this bug was reported before from Zachary Schneider, see
http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2004/10/msg02129.html

actualy he mailed me that this issue should be fixed and because
it's not, I decided to send the message again...

the installer loads the megaraid2 module but after the reboot
he decides to get the megaraid module instead of megaraid2,
so the systems crashs with a kernel panic....

best regards

        Hi,

Yesterday, I successfully installed a PowerEdge 1850 server with
megaraid2 (the same type of machine I described in #299055) with Debian
 Installer RC 3.

This was to be expected as I couldn't reproduce the initrd problems I
had in #299055 when I tried to debug it (something like 10 days ago).

 Reporters of bugs #278887, #282109, #282793, #284230, and #287019:
please try with a newer initrd-tools or debian-installer or report any
remaining problems I might have overseen!

   Regards,
