Unable to load NLS chatset cp437

Greetings,
I was hoping someone may be able to help me out. I am probably doing
something real stupid.
I have a digital camera that works as a USB Mass-storage device (works
great under 2.4!)
When I made the jump to 2.6.10, whenever I try to mount the camera
(which uses a VFAT File system) I get this message in my kern.log:
Feb 21 20:58:38 Oneill Unable to load NLS charset cp437
Feb 21 20:58:38 Oneill FAT: codepage cp437 not found
The mount command outputs:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
Attached is my .config file for my kernel.
As you can see the .config supports both vfat and code page 437. Could
anyone offer some insight?
Thanks,
