Bug#293844: aic7xxx problem with DDS4 tape

package: kernel-source-2.6.8
version: 2.6.8-12
Severity: normal

Hi!

I upgraded the Sarge box with Kernel-image-2.6.8-2-686-smp (-12) from Sarge.
And I now get fatar error with afio.

I'm using tob + afio. Backup are done using DDS4 tape. When error occurs,
AIC7xxx drivers crash and need to be unloaded/reloaded.

afio: "/dev/st0": Input/output error
Fatal tob error: backup command failed.

Afio stop on fatal error not alway on the same file.

I was previously using a 2.4.20 kernel. I tried with AIC7xxx drivers in
kernel module or hard coded (with a hand made compiled kernel). Same result.

I've not yet found how to locate the problem and how to solve it.

As well, I tried with a fresh tape and I have the same problem on two
servers upgraded at the same time.
