Package: kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686-smp
Version: 2.6.8-5
Severity: normal

Due to the current state of the ide-scsi module (not needed ?, not
maintained ?, etc) I'm not sure how severe this problem really is, but
I can reproduce a kernel Oops by loading and unloading the ide-scsi
module. The oops happens on the unload. I don't actually need this
module though, but I was playing around with some remote SCSI stuff
and wanted to see if it worked. There is also a lot of documentation
out there written for 2.4 that tells users this module is needed for
CD burning so it's likely users will attempt to load it. It would be
better if the module was broken in some other way then crashing the
whole box...

Here's the trace:

closing as your kernel is tainted.

ide-scsi is 2.4 stuff, use ide-cd.
