Bug#288712: kernel-image-2.4.27-1-686: power off button on dell d800 does not work anymore
Package: kernel-image-2.4.27-1-686
Version: 2.4.27-6
Severity: important
I have just upgraded the kernel image for linux 2.4.27 and now I
cannot halt my notebook d800: the power-off button does not respond.
Before the upgrade the computer would not automatically swith off, (I
know I have to switch to kernel 2.6 for this, but I don't want to for
other reasons), but still I could finally switch it off using the
button.
Now the only tricks I know for switching the power off is to unplug
the AC and remove the battery... or restart with CTRL-ALT-DEL (which
works) and then immediately use the power button (which would work
then). But this is bad ! And it forces the BIOS to do a longer check
up at the next reboot.
Any help appreciated.
Best regards
