Please, Luk, clarify your reasoning if raising severity of a bug.

I agree that yaird cannot handle installations while running 2.4.x, but
I fail to understand why that is of higher severity than "normal".

This is a known issue. But thanks for filing a bugreport about it to
make it more visible.

Are you aware of http://wiki.debian.org/InitrdReplacementOptions
comparing the various ramdisk tools?
