I got that error, too. For me, adding the piix module helped (see
above). Even with linux-image-2-6-14-2-686 (2.6.14-5) which I have
booted right now. But strangely, Sumit has it loaded. Might it be that
"piix" has to be loaded earlier? Maybe before "generic"?
