What kernel version and ramdisk tool are you using ? Can you try adding ntfs
and your sata to the ramdisk override file (/etc/mkinitrd/modules for
2.6.12/initrd-tools, check in detail for the others), in all three
combinations (first ntfs only, then your sata module, then both), and tell us
which one worked.

Also, make sure you try it with 2.6.14 + yaird|initramfs-tools, as it is
highly unlikely initrd-tool will in any way be fixed.
