On my machine:
# cd /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.14-1-k7/include/
# ls -ld asm*
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 8 Oct 31 10:03 asm -> asm-i386
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Oct 31 10:03 asm-generic
As you can see asm links to asm-i386, but asm-i386 does not exist.
