$ -depmod -a
zsh: command not found: -depmod
if it is a shell command that won't work.
but
$ fakeroot make-kpkg kernel-image > debug
and
$ grep depmod debug
if [ -r System.map -a -x /sbin/depmod ]; then /sbin/depmod -ae -FSystem.map -b /usr/src/linux-2.6.14/debian/tmp-image -r 2.6.14-frodo; fi
depmod -q -FSystem.map -b debian/tmp-image 2.6.14-frodo;
should bring me to your guess.
