I'm afraid this doesn't work for me as the compilation ends in the exact
same error message.

In my original report I had gcc pointing to gcc-4.0 but still you can
see that gcc-3.3 was used to compile process.c. I imagine that gcc-4.0
could have messed up earlier in the process and that this manifests
itself in this way when compiling process.c but, with my limited
knowledge in this area, this doesn't seem likely.
