Bug#315110: kernel-image-2.4.27-2-686: irda driver smsc-ircc2 under kernel-image-2.6.8 doesn't seem to work.

Thanks for checking. For the record, those kernels should be compiled
with Sarge's gcc-3, and to the best of my knowledge they are.

Thanks, sorry to give your the run around checking 2.6, 
but its often a good shortcut to getting problems solved,
if only to isolate backport potentials. Unfortunately,
that wasn't the case this time around.
