The default for the link-in-boot option was changed in d-i post-sarge for 
i386. I discovered that this broke lilo installation as the default 
config file expects a vmlinuz link and a link to the initrd to be present 
in boot. (grub does not depend on this.)
Thus, this comment from Sven is noise. See #329994 for details.


Manoj,

If you have suggestions about how to improve boot loader configuration in 
d-i, I'm sure we would welcome them. Please keep in mind however that we 
have to cater for a lot more complex setups than was the case for 
boot-floppies.
