Bug#323593: linux-source-2.6.12: 2.6.12 psmouse incorrectly recognizes Alps touchpad as Glidepoint
Package: linux-source-2.6.12
Version: 2.6.12-3
Severity: normal
I used to use 2.6.11 here on my Dell Latitude D500 laptop and the
psmouse driver (which presumably included the patch which comes with the
xorg-driver-synaptics package) was recognizing the touchpad just well.
I upgraded to 2.6.12, and now it recognizes it incorrectly as ALPS
GlidePoint, the xorg-driver-synaptics thing doesn't detect the hardware
because kernel support just isn't there.
Also, it claims that it enabled hardware tapping,
skyblue@roadrunner:~$ dmesg|grep -i alps
alps.c: Enabling hardware tapping
input: AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint on isa0060/serio1
but tapping doesn't work for me.
Thanks,
