Please check the following: does the initrd.img entry for this kernel in your bootloaders configuration (/boot/grub/menu.lst or /etc/lilo.conf) point to the correct initrd image? are the symlinks in /boot not dangling? if you have trouble finding yout yourself, please attach your menu.lst or lilo.conf, and a directory listing of /boot.
