Hi,

I just installed kernel-image-2.6.8-2-sparc64 on an ultra-1. It rebooted
fine into it, but it didn't find the network card (a LANCE).

How come this kernel doesn't include the lance driver?

Is there any way round this without building a custom kernel?

Thanks

Ian

The lance driver is available in kernel-image-2.6.8-2-sparc64 package as
sunlance.ko module, located in the directory

/lib/modules/2.6.8-2-sparc64/kernel/drivers/net

You need to add 'sunlance' to /etc/modules or install some hardware detecting package, such as discover1 or hotplug to get it loaded upon every system boot.
