Version: 2.6.11-2
Severity: important

I am using currently kernel-image-2.6.8-11-amd64-k8-smp which includes
the tg3 ethernet driver which my hardware needs. In kernel-image-2.6.11-9-amd64-k8-smp
this driver is missing.

The driver is not missing, the package kernel-modules-nonfree containing
the tg3 module among others is sitting in NEW until the licensing issue
discussion has been concluded.=20

See http://wiki.debian.net/?KernelFirmwareLicensing for more information=20
on this.

Closing the bug. In the meantime, you can get sources and precompiled
packages for amd64 at http://213.178.77.236/kernel/amd64/

Kind regards=20
