are all probably bugs due to the quality of the USB layer in 2.6.8. My
original problem shows up on all kernels before 2.6.10, the Dell problem is in
2.6.8 but not 2.6.7...
Maybe this bug should be cloned and one of the clones retitled to something
describing the Dell problem?
