Comments/Problems:
For this hardware sym53c8xx module does not work. Instead one must use 
ncr53c8xx.
Reboot after install failed because initrd loads only sym53c8xx. Easy to 
fix from shell
before first reboot, but you might consider modifying initrd to load both.

On closer inspection, this bug has already been fixed by Bastian's changes
in initrd-tools 0.1.78, which is targetted for sarge.
